Program Design & Facilitation Skills Training

I’d place it in the top two training experiences I’ve had personally and professionally and spending a lot of time in the NGO world I’ve been through many different training programs!

I enjoyed the challenging nature of the training and your ability to make it real and tangible and not an abstract concept but something we can apply in our real world which I understand is incredibly difficult to do especially via Zoom.

One of the best PD’s I’ve ever done.

What is it?

A professional development training for group facilitators, teachers, trainers, or any human (of any gender) who is working with groups and looking to guide them to create meaningful change in their lives through conversation, contemplation and challenge.

It is also for those new to working with groups who are looking to create a camp, a retreat, or any event aimed at building a stronger sense of community, belonging and purpose in individuals and groups.

This training is open to the public as a 3 day experiential training that will grow your knowledge, skills and confidence in creating and facilitating powerful, transformative programs for human beings.

It is also offered to schools and organisations wishing to strengthen facilitation skills of their staff.

The training covers

  • The framework we use at Good Blokes Co to design and facilitate programs. Our Program map is tried and tested on over a hundred camps and retreats and on a wide variety of shorter workshops. It is derived from multiple sources across the fields of education, sociology, anthropology and contemporary Rites of Passage.

  • The facilitation approach we use or guiding participants into deeper conversations and meaningful personal reflection.

  • A toolbox of activities including games, challenges and creative exercises to stimulate contemplation and conversation.

  • Tools for dealing with difficult participants and situations.

  • Co-facilitation and frameworks for embracing feedback and growth mindset.

  • Bringing it all together. Designing and/or re-designing engaging, inspiring, enjoyable, meaningful programs.

I absolutely loved this training. Makes me excited for what’s ahead.

Mike facilitated that so well... all teachers should be made to do that

This has super-charged our work with soon-to-be Dads. To leave an epic experience with 22 blokes and a clear roadmap is incredibly valuable and empowering. You will see the impact soon!

I particularly like how the design philosophy is rooted in traditional teachings and knowledge, coupled with Mike’s own very real lived experience and uniquely witty flavour, and it was communicated directly and honestly. I came out of that weekend feeling levelled up, more confident, connected, proud, inspired, supported and lighter. It was inclusive, funny, informative, and raw!

This workshop centred around the rites of passage framework and gave me a much better understanding of how to create a safe environment in which to guide people to deeper and meaningful conversations while keeping it fun and exciting.

It’s not a mystery... there’s a framework for guiding people into a transformational experience.

What I really learned is to not be afraid to go deeper and trusting the process of creating space for people to share
